My last post was on Power of Networking!. Now I'm back again with another post with a heading "The Magical power of Yes!"...Well, some of you might be wondering, This blog was meant to be for photographers to increase their clients using internet resources, but why are these posts not talking about website, facebook, adwords, etc. Let me give a short answer to your questions, my dear photographers, Internet is very huge and there are numerous ways to market your business on internet but what i'll be teaching you in my initial posts are the essence of marketing,no matter if it's online or offline, it can be used anywhere, anytime. Without strong basics of marketing skills you are bound to lose, some of you might have already tried several online marketing techniques and would have failed to reach the expected results, WHY?...Because your fundamentals of marketing was not right, Please do give importance to these posts and learn some easy and powerful marketing skills to enhance your online and offline client getting skills. So without spending much of your time, I am going to Jump into The magical power behind yes!

Have you had an experience where your friend made you tell that you would never mind watching your favorite movie more than once and later force you to join them for a movie and you had to move with them since you couldn't say "no" as you had to stand by your words?
Here's another common example, anytime before had you been called by a salesperson and being asked if you would like to support for a cause that you would never say no, and later they would ask you for donation in order to promote for that cause and you had to donate them since you were not willing to back off from your words?
Even though you wouldn't have had such an experience, I bet you would have at least witnessed it happening with your friends or relatives. This is one of the secret marketing techniques not only used by salesperson or telemarketer but by big companies to sell products to audience, Don't you wanna equip with one such weapon for yourself?....For your benefit I am not going deep into the Power of yes,but instead give you practical implementation steps to make best use of it,

  • List only basic photography packages on your websites/ads.
people when look at a lower cost package feel happy and show interest towards your business, This might not guarantee you a client as of now, but you have made an effort to make them take first "YES"

  • Once they are interested to know completely about your offerings, don't display your complete price package, rather offer a small consultation session for free, where you display all your works and ask them wouldn't they like their photographs to be good like the one's you showed them?
Of course, your clients are gonna say "YES", Did you observe, You made customers say another yes..

  • Now offer them a link for your complete package price details
Once they click on it, it is again a way of telling "YES" to your proposal

In this way, you make customers say a series of "YES" which puts them in a state which makes them say YES for your premium packages as well!

Hope this post helped you!

Well, here's the secret- I call it as power of networking. This method might not sound exciting, but guess what?, just follow some of my easy-to-do steps and within very few days you start generating more and more clients for your business, Period!

Networking in simple words, meeting new people and expanding your contacts who might do business with you or will be able to send some referrals. Did you start thinking that networking demands some powerful communication skills?..Well NO!....In the following steps I'm gonna show you stupid simple steps that not only makes networking easier but also enjoyable!

Following steps are no-fluff, action filled steps...Just follow without rationalizing and very soon you'll be rewarded with more and more clients.

Stage 1: Strategic preparation

  • Best place to expand your contacts is at events. Carry along with you some neat looking professional visiting cards.
  • Just glance through RSVP list, select some(3 to 4) appropriate persons whom you think can help you out in giving business or referrals. Say for example you are an pet photographer, then people owning pet shops or related to pet industry would be the one's to target.
  • Make a small research about person, be prepared in advance about what to speak and how to grow rapport with that person.
Tips: Set goals before attending events, like meeting at least 3 persons and establishing relationship (will be explained further).

Stage 2: Follow up

  • Try to stay in touch with people whom you've contacted and built rapport with. May be by sending facebook requests, following them on twitter, linkedin.
Warning!-Never ever be too salesy in your talk, No one likes sales people, show genuine interest in knowing more people and building contacts. Your conversation should always be casual, this is one point which most people miss out while networking.

Step 3: Time to get business

  • Make note of people whom you have contacted, share some of your work and keep in touch with them. I bet you, if you have followed my advice exactly as i've told, then next time they or their friends are looking for a photographer, you will be the first one coming to their mind.
  • Be creative in how you can share your work. For example, one of my friend provided 30x40 wall potrait of a married couple in a marriage bureau, people visiting the bureau enquired about this wonderful art and asked staff  for more details, end result?....He got 7 new clients with next two weeks.
Remember, Networking is the easiest and yet most powerful way to get new and recurring customers for lifetime. I hope this post has provided some insights into power of networking and it motivates you to go out and build network.
